I have just started a new project. I want it to be in the mostly white and beige colors with just a splash of other colors. I usually piece in blogs but I decided I wanted to do one large piece. I'm finding it hard to work on this large piece without and embroidery hoop but I will try. I don't like the marks you get from hoops but it is easier to work with a hoop. We'll see what happens hope it works out.
Well I'm sitting here tonight sick with a cold and bored out of my mind. I think it's time to get started back on my quilt and embroidery projects. I stopped as I usually do each year for a time but now i'm ready to get started.I just have to figure out how I can work with beads without spilling them. My grandson is starting to crawl and I don't want to spill beads and have him put one in his mouth. I think I will have to sew in another room instead of the living room where he crawls around. Well off I go to gather my things. Hope to update soon.
I really haven't been working on anything much this month.. I seem to take a break once a year and I guess this is the time. Been doing weight watchers trying to loose some weight. I will probably start working on my projects soon. I have a wonderful new baby grandson named Ethan and he is a love. It is so fun watching him as he learns new things. well gotta go they have just arrived
Well I did try to post pictures of my quilts that I am working on but I seem to be having a problem posting them to blogger. I do have them on Facebook and on Flickr but can't post to here. Computers are so frustrating at times. I have been working on 3 different quilts and enjoy every minute. I have also had a new grandson who I adore who was born in March and who I love babysitting for and spending time with. He makes my heart happy he is such a cutie and makes me laugh all the time.
Just finished putting my stuffed peppers in the crock pot. It's a cold day but nice for stitching can never have enough time to stitch. I started sewing some of my blocks together , so I am adding a picture.
Today I uploaded 2 of my latest blocks. I really need more patterns because my imagination is not real good. I love all the beautiful colors of the Edmar threads. Perhaps I'll order a new book soon. So many things to buy, you have to stop yourself for a while. (haha) With Spring being so close I just want to sit outside in the sun.
Such a beautiful day after the rain. I feel like spring is really coming. I think I may go sit outside & embroider today.
Hi I just uploaded some new blocks to Flickr today. I am trying some new flowers from a book I got called "Tropical Flower Garden". It has alot of different flowers and is a little difficult but I love trying out the new flowers. It's so cold here in Jersey that it's hard to embroider my hands are so cold and splitting from the cold here. Hope spring comes soon.
Hearts
Hi welcome to my blogg. I just changed all my colors on here today and rearranged some things. I must say I haven't crazy quilted or embroidered in 6 months. I am going crazy with tatting. I can't even leave the house without taking it with me. I just find tatting so relaxing to do and it works up so fast. The pieces turn out so beautiful that I can't wait to start the next one.
Darlene's quilt
Hi don't have any new pictures this week. I'm trying to make a quilt for my dayghter, she"s getting married in November and I want to have the quilt done for her shower. We usually have different tastes, but I'm hoping she will like this quilt. It will have moose, tress, leaves and acorns on it.
She just loves moose and she has a few moose things in her home(salt & pepper etc). I hope it comes out good. She always askes me to make her something and I thought of this the other day and I must get busy on it. I will still be doing my heart blocks in between. Well bye for now---------------HAPPY QUILTING.
Darlene's Finished Quilt
I finished the quilt I was making for my daughters shower on Oct 5. I finished in plenty of time and I think it came out pretty well. She just loves moose and since it's fall and a fall wedding I put trees and acorns. I really hope she likes it. I used meandering for the backround quilting and on the border I quilted some of the leaves in the fabric pattern. I can;t wait to give it too her.

I am making these for the shower. I have to make 30 of them, so far I have 19 done. I have been doing it nonstop for 3 days. I hope to finish them today, and then I will get back to my crazy quilting. They have sachet in them, my daughter had received one as a gift years ago in red and she said mom I bet you could make these for the favors at the shower. I made my own pattern and formed the hangers out of wire. I hope she will like them as she doesn't no I decided to do them.
So much to do
I haven't had time to post any of my work. My daughter is getting married as you no and the shower is in 3 weeks. I am making the party favors so now I will have to work on that. I am also teaching myself how to tat, so I am really enjoying myself since I quit my job. I love it all this time for my hobbies.
Hope you enjoy the work I have posted today. Now I am about to get busy making more hearts. I eventually want to put them into a quilt.
These two blocks I have finished and appliqued them down on white fabric. I think the white backround really shows all the beadwork and embroidery.
Hi I just added some photo's to my photo stream on Flickr. I have finished some new hearts this week and I will try to post them later. I am so into this embroidery and crazy quilting that I can't stop. I enjoy looking at everyones blog and also there photo's on flickr. I am enjoying being at home and just working on the things I love.
